I'm using it on a Scott Scale 940 (carbon hardtail MTB), though it's originally designed for aluminum or steel frames. The rack mounts to the seatstays with a reinforced hook-and-loop strap and a rubber pad for grip. That said, carbon frames are more sensitive to point loads and abrasion. Even with padding, repeated vibration can eventually wear through the finish or fibers. I had the thru-axle (which is included as a whole assembly with this rack) modified at a machine shop for a more secure fit, but that kind of setup depends on your level of competence and risk tolerance. I don't use it with a child seat, so I can't comment on that combination.

Yes, it can be installed on carbon frames. I don´t think it can be used with a child seat, due to the maximum weight the rack can support.

Si, se puede instalar en cuadros de carbono. No creo que se pueda utilizar con una silla para niños, debido al peso máximo que puede soportar el portaequipajes.
