Contec HS-40 semi-integrated headset

CONTEC HS-40 Semi-Integrated Headset 1 1/8"

Upgrade your bicycle´s handling and achieve a clean, modern aesthetic with the CONTEC HS-40 Semi-Integrated Headset. As a critical component of your bike´s steering systems, the headset is responsible for providing smooth, precise control, and the HS-40 is engineered to deliver exceptional performance and reliability. Whether you are building a new bike from the frame up, upgrading from a worn or basic headset, or seeking a more performance-oriented setup, the HS-40 is a superb choice that blends quality construction with intelligent design.

Key Benefits:

Unwavering Steering Performance: At the core of the HS-40 are its high-quality, sealed cartridge-ball bearings. This advanced design ensures an exceptionally smooth and fluid turning motion while providing superior protection against dirt, water, and grime that can compromise performance. Unlike traditional loose ball bearings that require frequent maintenance and are susceptible to contamination, the sealed cartridges in the HS-40 offer long-lasting durability and a consistently responsive feel, allowing you to navigate corners and technical terrain with confidence.

Sleek, Integrated Aesthetics: Enhance your bike´s profile with the modern, low-profile look of a semi-integrated headset. Designed for frames with a 44mm press-fit head tube, the HS-40´s cups sit nearly flush with the frame, creating a seamless and elegant transition from the head tube to the fork. This not only provides a professional, high-end appearance but also adds a layer of protection for the bearings within.

Optimized for Performance and Fit: The CONTEC HS-40 features a carefully considered stack height of 35mm. The design includes a 32mm upper stack and an ultra-low 3mm lower stack, which is ideal for riders looking to achieve a lower handlebar position for a more aggressive, aerodynamic riding posture. Furthermore, with a competitive weight of just 145 grams, this headset helps reduce the overall weight of your bicycle without sacrificing strength or durability, making it a smart upgrade for road, gravel, or mountain bike enthusiasts.

Main Features & Technical Information:

The HS-40 is a complete headset solution designed for widespread compatibility and straightforward installation. It is specifically engineered for frames requiring a semi-integrated (also known as ZS or Zero Stack) headset with a 44mm press-fit diameter. It is compatible with the industry-standard 1 1/8" straight steerer tube, making it a versatile option for a vast range of forks and frames. The included crown race is precisely machined for a 30.0mm diameter, ensuring a secure and solid interface between the fork crown and the lower bearing for a stable and predictable front end. This meticulous engineering makes it a reliable foundation for your bike´s entire steering assembly.
