I bought these for both cadence and speed and installation could not have been much easier. I've experienced a couple of short connect/disconnect hiccups with my Garmin 540 when starting the ride, but no issues during the ride. I've also done a couple of wet rides without problems.

Mounting must be on the inside of the crank. The box is too thick, and the tread makes the rubber pads useless. We'll see how long they last (two different bikes). So far, it works fine, but I haven't had long-term experience yet, so I can't comment on battery life.
