It's meant to be compatible with the 1000 series so it should fit the 1040. The newly released 1050 however has the fixing mount set further forward so that may not fit

Nothing else required, it just slips under the stem faceplate brackets and tighten back up once you are happy with the angle of the mount. I removed the go pro mount from beneath the mount also
