Metal Carbon and Metal ALX forge a new standard of excellence for the trail, by fusing together optimal performance, ultra-light design and unrivalled resistance.

Fulcrum’s return to the MTB world was initially focused on XC race circuits, with the introduction of the Red Zone family and its different levels of performance. This led to a gradual and natural move into Trail riding. Metal Carbon and Metal ALX have been specifically designed for this segment, seamlessly blending the high performance requirements of the trail with the need for agility and resistance.

Metal Carbon is a wheel designed for performance on the trails featuring a carbon rim with an inner rim width of 32 mm: a choice derived from the results of tests that have shown that this width is the best solution to support 2.4-2.6 wide tyres.

2-Way Fit™:
- 2-Way Fit™ profile for tubeless and clincher. Tubeless technology was first used by the auto industry , then by motorcycles and now has reached the cycling industry. After its debut with mountain bikes the moment has come to “put it on the road”, and that’s what we propose to do.

We have developed our 2-Way Fit™ technology to ensure the perfect compatibility of our tubeless rims with normal clincher types and tubes. 2-Way Fit™ road bike wheels are perfectly multipurpose for tackling every situation. Thanks to a special impression in the valve area, the tubes are fitted with the maximum precision while keeping the tube perfectly stable inside the tyre.

Housing the valve for tubeless tyres is also risk-free, with the unquestionable advantage that there are never any air infiltrations caused by non-ideal positioning when fitting.

Compatibility:
- It shall be the end user’s sole and full responsibility to choose on a case by case basis an adequate and correct rim-tire-pressure combination, as well as to conduct all verifications neces-sary to ascertain the correctness and safety of such combination.

Without prejudice to the above, and in order to ensure optimum rolling resistance, grip and, most importantly, safety, we recommend that the end user, in making his choice, also takes into consideration the recommended combinations of hooked rim width, tire width and tire pressure indicated in the chart set forth below.

Due to safety reasons, follow the information of the tire manufacturer regarding minimum and maximum rim width to be used but always ensure that the combination is listed as possible in this table.

DRSC™ - Directionated Rim-Spoke Coupling:
- Exclusive rim/spoke coupling system. It allows the rim, spokes, nipples and hub to align properly with the same tensioning value in all areas.

AFS axle system™:
- The Axial Fixing System™ is the solution developed by Fulcrum® to fix the disc brake to the hub. The constraint granted by the butt area of the release mechanism, greater than in familiar standard ones, makes it possible to obtain greater structural rigidity and therefore more precise and powerful braking.

Compatibility:
- The availability of the International Standard option ensures full compatibility of Fulcrum® wheels even with the most widespread braking systems that use this assembly plan.

Undrilled Rim Bed:
- No holes on the bridge connector means that the rim is uniform at every point, free from critical areas subject to stress.
The advantages are immediately clear: less weight, longer lasting rims, greater resistance to fatigue, the possibility of giving the spokes more tension and more stiffness which, in terms of performance, means improved responsiveness and acceleration.

The Fulcrum spirit entails a constant effort to pick up and seize on new trends and keep pace with the most advanced technologies available.

This is why we adopted Shimano´s MICROSPLINE standard as soon as the new racing drivetrains for 12-speed mountain bikes were presented, and will introduce the ground-breaking technology throughout our range.

The Shimano MICROSPLINE option will be available on all MTB and E-MTB wheels in the MY2020 catalogue.

At the same time, it will be possible to convert all wheels in the Red Zone, Red Metal and Red Fire range and all previously purchased and used E-MTBs featuring different bodies using a conversion kit comprising body and pivot.
