Exchanging the cage was a bit finicky but mostly due to me doing it for the first time. I run now a Garbaruk 10-52t cassette on my Rival XPLR. Be aware that you need an Eagle chain for the Garbaruk cassette because of different roller sizes between the Eagle one and the road flattop chains (Eagle chains can be run on Rival/Force/Red front chain rings). If not switched to an Eagle chain the chain will jump in gear 10t under load and probably will wear out cassette and chain. As for the extender link between frame and derailleur: I don’t use it because in my case it works much better in terms of shifting performance. I don’t know whether this has to do with the rival XPLR vs road rival AXS or because my bike has a rather short chainstay…. Just try with and without extender link as long as the pulley wheel has enough distance to the 52t cog. I have ridden it so far 300km in rough terrain on my gravel bike and no complaints so far.

Does the cage alone (without extension link) improve cassette span?

I have a max 33T Force D1 and want to use it with 36T (or maybe 44T). Is it possible to use a 10-36 cassette without the link for tighter fit between cogs and likely better shifting?

I have this on force D1 with a 36T cassette. I switched from Force D1 to Force XPLR D1 with the same 36T cassette. Runs better now.

Have a Sram xx1 eagle axs 12 speed rear derailleur with a broken cage, does this fit that rear derailleur? Has 34t front drive and 10-52 cassette mounted on the bike.

In principle it is valid for road groups and XPLR. I have it mounted on a Force XPLR derailleur without using the hanger extender and I can put up to a 52. But I don´t know if it is valid for the MTB group, it may be that the box where it is mounted is not the same and the spring does not exert the same force.

Yes, it comes with the mounting key, you can mount it on all SRAM etap AXS and XPLR AXS derailleur. It does not improve gear shifting, it allows you to mount a cassette up to 10 52t

Yes it is. I put it on my Rival AXS XPLR where the difference between Regular Rival AXS and XPLR is anyway just the cage. Both cages are the same system. One is just longer.
