This lock is very sturdy - gold secure standard. The mount is just a piece of plastic which seems very resistant, however the lock rattles when it is inside. An alternative, it is to use the belt mount.

The lock appears to be of high quality, but hopefully I won't have to test it against a determined thief. It's relatively lightweight for its size. The mounting bracket is very handy and easy to mount. With the lock on the ride is still completely silent. So far I'm very satisfied.
