Wore the Icebreaker 260 Tech Merino Long sleeve base layer as a thermal underlayer in combination with multiple layers on vacations in Finnish Lapland at temperatures down to -36 degrees! The must-have in combination with the Icebreaker pants in cold areas. The merino underlayer is warm, stays fresh after wearing for several days.

Very soft and comfortable against the skin. Good quality and seems pretty durable for something that is 100% Merino Wool. Medium size feels like it fits me perfect. I’m 177cm tall and about 78kg with somewhat athletic build. This base layer will not warm you by itself unless you are active, because it’s so breathable. When you layer it under another piece of clothing, it will trap heat between layers and warm up when you are moving and generating heat. If being only stationary, it will probably not be warm enough for below freezing temperatures, unless you have some something thicker layered on it. Also, if you are very active, it will likely cause you to overheat, unless you take of layers when needed. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase, and it works for what I bought it for. I also use it when just lounging at home, since it’s so comfortable to wear. Recommended.
