Bought this to replace chain on a 2009 vintage ultegra 10-speed setup. It shifts as smoothly as the higher-priced brand name. Very easy installatiom with quick link. This length was more than enough for drivetrain with 46 tooth large front ring and 28 tooth large rear cog on a 58cm road frame - just had to remove 8 links. Would definitely purchase again.

I always prefer to work with those chains. You have a lot of choices and the link is the best innovation since pedal/cleats, integrated brake/shifters and indexed shifting! You can always find a KMC when in need, sometimes I get a super light, sometimes I get a budget one. They all work the same. For the record, I use a 9 speed wide on my 8 speed MTB (Shimano drivetrain), I use a 10 speed chain on a 9 speed road Shimano road bike and I use a 12 speed on my Campagnolo 12 Chorus road bike.

I bought two KMC x10 chains and both came in plastic bags (but with the quick link) not in boxes. So not sure if it is an isolated error. I suspect this is OEM stock than retail stock.

Hi, the chain I purchased has 114 links, in fact its KMC product code is: BX10NB114. If you want it with 116 links you have to choose if available in the chain product option drop-down menu the 116 links option or choose another type of better KMC 10v chain with the 116 links or more option (e.g. 122) and then shorten it by cutting the extra links with a chain breaker.

As long as it’s the matching number of gears you’ll be ok. I’ve used KMC chains on Shimano road and Shimano MTB. They work great. If you have a ten speed bike this will work.
