The Safe-T Orbital Fit System and Fidlock Magnetic Buckle provide a highly adjustable and secure fit, ensuring the helmet stays perfectly positioned during intense competition.

The Safety-First Competitor

This rider understands that speed is nothing without safety. They seek a helmet that not only offers a competitive edge but also provides reliable impact protection and meets recognized safety standards, giving them the confidence to push their limits.

This helmet offers peace of mind with its In-mould Polycarbonate Shell and EPS liner construction for impact resistance. It meets multiple safety certifications, including CE, AS/NZS, and En 1078. The combination of the Safe-T Orbital Fit System and Fidlock Magnetic Buckle ensures a secure and stable fit for enhanced safety at speed.

The Racer

For this cyclist, aesthetics are just as important as performance. They look for gear that complements their bike and kit, featuring a sleek design and thoughtful details without compromising on speed or function.

The Codatronca features a distinctive, short-tailed aerodynamic profile that is both functional and visually striking. Details like the integrated visor, Air Lite straps with embedded anchors, and the convenient Fidlock Magnetic Buckle create a clean, streamlined look. The included helmet soft bag also adds a practical touch for transport and storage.

Competitive features

When selecting a high-performance time trial helmet, aerodynamics, fit, and specific features are key differentiators. The Met Codatronca is engineered with a distinct short-tail design for aerodynamic efficiency across various head positions. It enters a competitive field alongside established models from Kask, Uvex, HJC, and POC, each offering their own approach to speed and safety for serious cyclists.

Where it excels

The Codatronca's short-tail, wide-body design is a key strength, engineered to reduce drag by guiding air over the shoulders, which is beneficial for riders who move their head frequently. It includes a comprehensive fit system, the Safe-T Orbital, which allows for 360°, vertical, and occipital adjustments, ensuring a secure and customized fit. The helmet comes equipped with practical features like a Fidlock magnetic buckle for quick fastening and a MET Dual Shield (Fumè) for integrated eye protection.

Consider alternatives if...

For riders seeking a helmet with Mips or other specific rotational impact protection systems, alternatives should be considered, as the provided data for the Codatronca does not specify this technology. The Uvex Ultimate Surge Carbon Mips, by its name, explicitly includes it.

Verdict

The Met Codatronca Time Trial Helmet is a specialized piece of equipment focused on aerodynamic performance. Its short-tail design offers versatility for riders who change head position, and its detailed fit system and included magnetic shield provide comfort and convenience. While it holds its own in a field of high-performance helmets, its primary focus is on aerodynamic gains rather than maximum ventilation, making it best suited for dedicated time trialists and triathletes.
