Shimano Steps SS301 speed sensor

SHIMANO STEPS EW-SS301 Speed Sensor Unit

Ensure your SHIMANO STEPS e-bike system performs flawlessly with the genuine SHIMANO EW-SS301 Speed Sensor Unit. Specifically engineered for the cutting-edge EP8 (EP800) drive unit series, this essential sensor is the critical component that provides precise, real-time speed data directly to your system´s computer. By intelligently moving away from traditional and vulnerable spoke-mounted magnets, the EW-SS301 utilizes a modern rotor-mounted magnet system (magnet sold separately), offering a more integrated, robust, and aesthetically pleasing solution for today´s high-performance e-bikes. This sensor is the heart of your bike´s data collection, enabling consistently accurate speedometer readings, correct distance tracking, and perfectly modulated motor assistance that is tuned to your actual speed. Trust in SHIMANO´s world-renowned engineering to keep your ride data reliable and your e-bike experience absolutely seamless.

Key Benefits:

* Unwavering Accuracy and Reliability: Experience precise and real-time speed data delivered directly to your SHIMANO STEPS computer. This ensures your ride metrics are always correct and the motor assistance is perfectly tuned to your pace, providing a natural and intuitive ride feel.
* Sleek, Integrated Design: The EW-SS301 is designed to work with a brake rotor magnet, eliminating the need for a clunky and easily misaligned spoke magnet. This results in a cleaner, more streamlined look for your rear wheel and reduces the risk of the sensor being knocked out of position.
* Enhanced Durability and Low Maintenance: By positioning the sensor securely on the chainstay, it is better protected from trail debris, impacts, and accidental damage. This robust design minimizes maintenance and provides long-lasting, dependable performance in all riding conditions.
* Optimized System Performance: As a genuine SHIMANO component, this speed sensor is guaranteed to integrate perfectly with your EP800 drive unit and the wider STEPS ecosystem. This ensures flawless communication between components for optimal power delivery and system efficiency.

Main Features:

* Rotor Magnet Compatibility: Specifically designed to function with a rear brake rotor lockring that incorporates a magnet (such as SHIMANO SM-DUE11), for a clean and secure setup.
* EP8 Series Specific Design: Engineered and optimized for seamless communication and perfect compatibility with the SHIMANO STEPS EP8 and EP800 drive unit platforms.
* Direct E-TUBE Connection: Features a generous 760mm cable with a modern, compact SD300-type connector for direct and secure wiring into your e-bike´s E-TUBE system.
* Secure Chainstay Mounting: Mounts discreetly and firmly to the bike´s chainstay, keeping it safe and ensuring a consistent distance from the rotor magnet for accurate readings.
