SKS Bluemels 55 mm Mudguard Set | Ultimate All-Weather Protection

Embrace four-season cycling and arrive at your destination clean, dry, and comfortable with the legendary SKS Bluemels 55 mm mudguard set. A staple for commuters, tourers, and dedicated enthusiasts, these mudguards are the definitive choice for reliable, full-coverage protection from the elements. Engineered for performance in the demanding world of Urban Cycling, they ensure that rain, puddles, and road grime won´t ruin your ride or your bike´s sensitive components. Keep your drivetrain cleaner for longer, reduce maintenance, and ride with confidence no matter what the weather forecast says.

A real tour de force in bicycle component design! The SKS Bluemels mudguard set not only integrates perfectly and sleekly onto your bike, but it also reliably protects against dirt and water splashes. The secret to its unparalleled performance lies in its innovative construction. Thanks to the flexible sandwich construction, in which ultra-thin aluminum strips are embedded in a matte black plastic coating, the mudguards are extremely sturdy, impressively flexible, and permanently corrosion-protected. This unique build provides the rigidity needed to prevent rattling and vibration while offering enough flex to resist damage from daily use.

Safety is paramount, and SKS has integrated a pioneering safety feature into the Bluemels design. The ASR (Automatic Stay Release) or ESC safety system is engineered to disconnect the mudguard stays from the axle if branches or other debris get interposed between the spokes. This critical function prevents the wheel from blocking, protecting the rider from a dangerous accident and the wheel from severe damage.

Mounting and adjustability are made simple and versatile. The V-stays with fixed bridges guarantee a highly secure and customized fit for your bike´s specific geometry, allowing for precise, individual adjustment. Furthermore, pedal cuts are incorporated into the design, which makes it possible to mount the mudguards even in tight spaces around the bottom bracket area, ensuring broad compatibility with a wide range of bicycle frames. This complete set comes ready for installation, representing a long-term investment in your cycling comfort and your bike´s longevity.

The installation was surprisingly laborious, which is why the product doesn´t get full points. It´s also good to check the compatibility with every bike frame beforehand, as not all bikes have suitable mounting points for this type of mudguard. However, when installed, they are functional and look very neat. The material appears durable and doesn´t add unnecessary weight to the bike

They adapt perfectly to my touring bike. Easy to mount

Robust but rustic

Adrien

Inexpensive and robust. Securely attached, it doesn´t wobble like many other fender models. Really a hassle to attach though, on my Specialized Sirrus. I had too little space available between the fork and the tire, and the tire is almost too wide for these fenders (even though it´s a 47 and they´re supposed to go up to 55). I spent hours on it, but it´s finally attached, it doesn´t rub at the front or the back, and it absolutely doesn´t move on the road. Rustic, therefore, but ultimately incomparably more reliable than Specialized DryTech fenders (worst garbage in history)

The first one is a 100% authentic Japanese product, and the second one is a 100% authentic Japanese product.

Great for smaller tyres

Oliver

Great fenders, but installation is annoying - having ,to trim the metal down is a bt of a pain. I also do not think these are suitbale for 45mm tyres - the metal mounts underneath the main mudguard get in the way. For tyres up to 40mm I think they will be fine.

Great fenders

Excellent fendes. I have owned several fenders from SKS (bluemels and longboards) and they all performed perfectly with lots of adjustment. Also, this version with metal rods on the outside of fenders are better I think.

Awesome Fenders

Good looking fenders but very tedious to install. The package arrived like it had been through the ringer and the fenders were a little scuffed up but not to extreme.

Great mudguards
