I had a similar problem and bought the Sunrace. It is important that you have the correct length of the entire bottom bracket, but also the length of the right part, which determines how far your chainring comes from the frame. Also check whether the left and right thread of the sunrace corresponds to the correct place in the frame. Good luck

Alternative for Shimano BB-UN50?

I now have a Shimano BB-UN50 in my retro racing bike, but the axle length on the right is about 1 cm too long, which makes the position of the front derailleur inconvenient. Total length is approx. 114.5 mm. In my opinion, this axle with a width of 103mm should be a good solution. Is that correct?

Hello, I suggest that you do some research on the specifications on the crankset in question. Retro is also a broad term. How is the retro road bike designed? If you mean that it is a steel frame with a 1-1/8 seat tube for a clamp-on or braze-on front derailleur and a 68mm English threaded bottom bracket, and a 126mm OLD rear end, the crank in question requires a specific bottom bracket as would a frame with different specs. Once this is determined, the proper bottom bracket can be selected. SunRace makes bottom brackets of various specifications, so there should be one available for you. In addition, do not install a Campagnolo or similar classic Italian crank on this bottom bracket. This is an JIS axle taper tor Japanese / Taiwanese (Shimano, SunTour, Sugino, etc.) cranks. Hello. I have a 90-90 GAC road bike, I´m going to change the ball key bottom bracket for this one. My keyed bottom bracket is 134mm and has a 34mm thread and 67mm axle length. I understand that this could work for me by taking the longest bottom bracket, right? And some cranks with a single chainring of about 46-48 teeth for 5 sprockets? Any advice? Thank you

Hello There are too many variables here. The prime objective is proper chainline. "Some Cranks" is too arbitrary. Is it a 5 speed rear end ( 121mm OLD ). I suggest selecting the crankset, and then do some research on how to determine chainline and axle length. hello, the bottom brackets of this style, there are several measures to look at. the width of the thread can be 68, 70 or 73. then there are some that have more threading than others depending on the bike model. and the most important thing is the width. which can be 109mm 111 113 117, you have to put the same width, otherwise you will be moving the chain. measure yours, and so you will know. Width is usually 68mm on most bikes
