Product description of WTB Volt Cromoly saddle

Description summary

Discover the WTB Volt, the most popular and versatile mountain saddle, acclaimed by riders for its perfect blend of speed and comfort. Shaped with an upward-curved tail for powerful pedaling and a gentle drop nose, it’s ideal for gravel, trail, enduro, and bikepacking. The Flex-Tuned shell provides an ideal mix of flex and efficiency, while strategic gel padding conforms to your sit bones for a custom fit. Supported by strong, lightweight cromoly rails, the Volt is the time-tested, do-it-all saddle for your next adventure

The Volt is our most popular mountain saddle. Shaped for speed and comfort, time tested and proven, the Volt makes for an incredibly versatile saddle that has gained endless acclaim among riders.

Features:
- Medium padding thickness and subtle curves make the Volt our most popular mountain saddle.
- An upward curved tail and gentle drop to the nose provide something to push against while pedaling.

Specifications:

- Usage: Gravel - Cross Country - Trail - Enduro - Bikepacking
- Sizing: Medium (142 x 265 mm)
- Rail material: cromoly
- Weight: +- 310 g

Cromoly rails:
- Increased strength and less weight make cromoly steel a noticeable upgrade over traditional steel rails. The perfect choice for bikepackers.

Microfiber cover:
- Found on most WTB saddles, our Microfiber cover closely replicates the look and feel of a leather cover. The supple nature of the Microfiber Cover allows the foam to support the sit bones without interfering with its resiliency.

Flex-Tuned shell:
- The Flex-Tuned shell boasts an exceptional mix of comfortable flex and firm efficiency. Not as supple as the Soft-Shell and not as stiff as the Carbon Composite Shell, Flex-Tuned saddles provide the happy medium that is ideal for most enthusiasts.

Gel padding:
- Strategically placed gel inserts conform to the specific shape and width of a rider’s sit bones to provide a fit that is unique to the rider. The gel inserts are surrounded by our Standard Padding to provide additional padding that will not pinch or put pressure on soft tissues.

CRISTOBAL

Saddle very comfortable and unbeatable for its price. Well-built and padded for normal users. For pros and riders, another WTB model, less padded, can be considered

The most comfortable ever

Andrea

It doesn't last me more than two or three years, but I've already changed four because, after trying several, I consider it the best overall for enduro and e-bike riding. It's a little hard at first, but after a few rides, it becomes more comfortable.

Good blend of comfort support and mobility

Great saddle that i now have on both mountain and gravel bikes, where i like to be able to move around a lot (probably would not chose this one for road bike). Superb build quality, after 3K km looks like new still when cleaned. chose size carefully i use a medium which is 142 mm wide for sit bone width 102-130 mm. But my sit bone width is 135-140 mm so paper that means i need a wide, but i found a wide one too restrictive to move around on and the medium feels better for me.

Magnificent saddle

I use this saddle on all my MTBs and gravel bikes. It's a comfortable saddle with a great price point. I have done MTB and gravel bike bikepacking trips up to 350 miles on this saddle without any issues. It's very comfortable for short day rides too.

Value for money

Gabe

I bought this saddle for my Orbea Vector 20. The default saddle was super uncomfortable (although in the shop they said it was a good quality gel saddle). Yet...it was just uncomfortable (causing a weird pinching feeling at the end of the pelvis bone). Got this WTB saddle and the pain is gone. Longer rides might cause a bit of pain, but honestly...one must get out of the saddle every now and then on a longer trip (that is the only solution for me to avoid pain).

My butt doesn't hurt

In Fijik Terra Argo, my butt hurts, and even 10 kilometers of commuting was painful. It was solved by replacing it with a bolt.

Comfortable for a semi-soft sports seat like the Selle Italia It is also very handsome and discreet. A good quality basic for trail and gravel or road. Those looking to minimize weight are better off buying the Volt with carbon or titanium rails. Very fast delivery.

I tried the WTB saddle with rocket, VOLT and SL8, but VOLT was the best fit for my ass. I've used gel for the first time, but I'm very grateful if I sit for more than 6 hours.

As someone who recently purchased the WTB Volt Cromoly Saddle, I am extremely satisfied with its quality and performance. The sleek design is also aesthetically pleasing, and the saddle´s shape offers excellent support for my sit bones without any discomfort. I have taken this saddle on numerous long rides, and it has held up remarkably well, showing no signs of wear or tear. Overall, I would highly recommend the WTB Volt Cromoly Saddle to any cyclist looking for a high-quality, comfortable, and durable saddle.

Wtb volt cromoly narrow

2020/07/20

Viktor

Comfortable saddle. On my native flat thin DH, after a 30 km trip in the city, it began to pinch the ass, I had to ride standing up (outside the descent) part of the time. There is nothing like this on this. In any case, for lovers of soft not suitable.

Spectacular

2025/05/24

Gus

I bought this saddle to replace the stock one on my bike, which was horrible. This one is really good, I have a big fat butt so I went for the larger size and I really like it. It has good firmness and rigidity but is comfortable. I still need to adjust it better because it slips on flats/downhills (I've been too lazy to do that). Other than that, I highly recommend it.

A good balance of comfort and weight

2025/04/16

Kota

You can ride comfortably even without wearing padded clothing. The weight is also quite satisfactory considering the comfort. However, it doesn't look too thick. I think it's a saddle that can be used for a wide range of purposes, from city riding to long rides.

Great saddle!

Hi I want WTB Volt in size medium. Do yours have the gel filling? Does it say gel on the top left hand side please? Thanks Paul

Answer of Evgeny

No. It doesn't say "gel."

Answer of Dragos

Hi Paul, yes it has the gel filling, you can see the gel mark in several pictures and in the description

Answer of Marco

I don´t know if it´s real gel, but the saddle is padded and soft enough. It is certainly the most comfortable one I have ever had for mountain biking, and I have tried many of them including Selle SMP, Specialized, Ergon, Selle Italia..... Then, it is very personal. But if you´re looking for a soft and comfortable saddle, the Volt is the bomb.

We've analyzed how the WTB Volt Cromoly Saddle stacks up against other popular models in a similar price range. The Volt is known for its versatility, serving a wide range of disciplines from gravel to enduro, and is designed to offer a balance of performance and comfort.

Where it excels

The WTB Volt Cromoly Saddle stands out for its acclaimed versatility. It's explicitly designed for multiple disciplines including gravel, trail, enduro, and bikepacking, making it a true do-it-all option. | It features a specific shape with an upward-curved tail and a gentle drop nose, engineered to provide a platform to push against while pedaling, blending speed with comfort. | The saddle incorporates a Flex-Tuned shell and strategic gel padding, which work together to provide a mix of supportive efficiency and a conforming, comfortable fit for your sit bones.

Consider alternatives if...

Its design, featuring a Flex-Tuned shell, gel padding, and cromoly rails, makes it suitable for a wide array of cycling activities like gravel, cross country, and trail riding.
