Climatica Air GTX is a modern and versatile shoe, designed to deliver maximum internal comfort in various climate conditions. The Air GTX version is proposed with a mesh upper to enhance the ventilation in summertime. Suitable for light outdoor experiences, travel and urban life, Climatica Air GTX features the ultimate Gore-Tex® Surround® technology that provides both waterproofness and excellent breathability also through the plantar area. The outsole is made with the brand new AKU Tenuta Grip, a special rubber compound that delivers stability and adherence on rugged terrain. Design developed according to the specifics of female plantar anatomy.

Technology:



Elica:

- Elica is an integrated system consisting of LAST - INSOLE BOARD - MIDSOLE - OUTSOLE which faithfully follows the anatomical shape of the sole of the foot and adapts to normal heel and forefoot inclination to reduce impact and strain.

- Laboratory tests certify that footwear with Elica, compared to traditional footwear,

guarantees a more even distribution of foot pressure.



The tests highlight:

- a more even distribution of pressure during the entire stance phase

- a more central load at mid stance

- better arch support during midstance and lower pressure during the toe-off phase.



Heel strike:

- The insole board is inclined outwards to support heel strike, while in the external heel area the shock absorber is thicker in order to better absorb the impact. The asymmetric tread design aligned with the axis of stance and the elongated lugs increase the contact surface area.



Toe-off:

- The insole board is inclined to support the natural toe-off. The internal front part of the midsole consists of shock-absorbing material to distribute the push-off force. The lugs on the tread located on the inner part of the shoe are protruding outwards to increase the contact surface area.



WOMAN FIT

- Specifically developed lasts for Women’s feet, a cozy and wrapping shape which gives stability and comfort on uneven mountain trails.



GORETEX® SURROUND™:

- Hiking shoes/boots engineered with GORE-TEX®® SURROUND™ product technology are designed for outdoor use in moderate to warmer conditions.

They offer enduring waterproof protection and optimum breathability all around the foot. Moisture and warmth also escape through the GORE-TEX®® membrane into the open structure of the “spacer” - and from there out of the shoe via side ventilation outlets. the result is faster sweat removal rate, keeping your feet dry and comfortable even at higher temperatures.

EXOSKELETON:

- Exoskeleton is a new solution which AKU has applied to a number of its hi-tech models. A new architecture conceived to guarantee protection and stability only where it is needed, without compromising the light weight.

- The Exoskeleton technology is applied to the sole: the midsole is composed of an outer skeleton in light polyurethane, which goes up at the rear surrounding and protecting the heel so as to provide support and stability while walking. The asymmetrical structure, with a wider inner part and a rise in polyurethane in the medial area offers support and provides pronation control.
