What is it?

The next generation of GORE-TEX® Pro products utilizes a totally new, patent pending, membrane technology. This new membrane, which is used exclusively in GORE-TEX® Pro products, consists of multiple ePTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) layers with a unique microstructure. These new GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics are Gores most durably protective mountaineering hard shells ever.



How does it work?

Building on time tested Gore membrane technology this new generation of GORE-TEX® Pro products uses a 100% ePTFE based multi-layer membrane construction that eliminates the need for the protective Oleophobic layer of traditional GORE-TEX® Pro products allowing for increased breathability while preserving its protection against contamination.

With up to a 28% increase in breathability over current GORE-TEX® Pro laminates, this technology increases the interior comfort of the garment by enabling the wearer to feel less clammy and more comfortable over a wide range of temperatures and conditions. The new membrane technology performs better in lower humidity conditions, is more comfortable in warmer conditions caused by solar loading, and has improved dry out times in conditions with frequent work-rest cycles with.



Designed to be even more durable and rugged than past generations, the new GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics feature a new high density ripstop micro grid woven backer for snag resistance on the inside, and a collection of durable abrasion resistant face fabrics on the outside.
