Adapt quickly to changes and climb higher than ever with the Osprey Mutant 52L backpack. Designed in collaboration with mountain guides and climbing practitioners, this lightweight, versatile backpack will ease your contact with the wilderness in either weekend or multi-day trips.
Made of high-tenacity 210D nylon, the Mutant 52L’s durability and weather resistance are absolute. Its snowshed fabric backpanel allows greater air circulation through your back and keeps you cool when in warm heights. Its preformed harness - which includes chest and lumbar straps, the latter of which is removable - ensures that your load remains balanced on your torso.
In its front panel, the Mutant 52L includes dual ToolLock™ bungees for carrying ice picks and other mountaineering tools, as well as additional loops on the sides for using compression cords or attaching other gear. This model also includes a LidLock helmet carry™ fully compatible with its integrated raincover. The Mutant 52L also includes an internal hydration pocket for carrying up to 3L reservoirs, as well as a zippered mesh pocket under its lid for carrying small objects.

Designed for fast summer climbs or winter peaks, the Mutant will be at your back wherever you go.
During cold weather ascents, you will appreciate its back panel with protective anti-snow fabric, the side straps to carry the skis and the Dual ToolLock ™ system, which allows you to adjust the ice axes quickly and safely.
If you are wearing the harness, you can retract the hipbelt or, if you prefer, remove it.
The Mutant main access is at the top with a zipper on the opposite side, meaning you can load the backpack like a bucket designed to gobble up material.
It has a top compression strap under the cap that can be adjusted outward to secure the rope.
Under the lid is a mesh pocket to store keys and essentials.

A good pack, with decent features. It's very lightly built and won't stand much abuse - for climbing, a little abrasion with rocks will quickly put a hole in the material.

As always, osprey does not wait and turns out a product that is absolutely top-notch. Excellent backpack, excellent care and quality of materials. Recommended. Tested at high altitude for several days with a considerable load. I recommend not carrying it over 15kg

Nice, comfortable backpack. Very light, sits well on the back. I tried it at the height and on technical routes. Now he has become my main. The only minus is in short slings on the sides, but this is a common trend for everyone. I consider him the best choice. If Osprey increases its volume to 70-80 liters, then I am sure to find such backpacks as well. I recommend!
