Salomon XA Pro 3D v8 Goretex shoe is the improved, light, and soft version of its predecessor XA Pro 3D since it reduces 20 grams of weight and adds materials that increase cushioning, impermeability, stability, and grip against any surface.
This trail running shoe is designed with a Contagrip MA sole that offers greater grip and traction on wet, dry, straight, or slippery terrains. The Energy Cell midsole gives you excellent cushioning on every step and the 3D Advanced Chassis provides stability and reactivity.
The Goretex membrane is highly resistant to water so your feet will keep dry and fresh at all times because it also allows greater ventilation inside. The Sensifit system is responsible for hugging the foot in a comfortable and customizable way and the Ortholite insole responds very well guaranteeing hygiene of the foot.
The upper of the 3D mesh promotes breathability and freshness, the welded tongue prevents the elements from entering, the protective toe cap is supported against sharp stones, and the Quicklace lacing system makes these hiking shoes are very easy to tie and remove.
This updated version of the iconic XA PRO 3D GORE-TEX is lighter and softer, while retaining all the essentials benefits of the original (stability, cushioning and grip). Featuring Contagrip® premium wet compound, a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane and improved 3D chassis, this shoe effortlessly accompanies you wherever the trail takes you.

I have been using these shoes for years. Never disappointed. The quality is always there. Perfect super comfortable slipper. For me, these shoes are perfect for trekking and running on soft ground. Only small downside: the sole wears out a little quickly. But OK. This proves that we use it!!!!

Salomon shoes from which you cannot expect less, comfortable and easy to tie. The spectacular goretex fabric in wet conditions and a lot of snow, the foot comes out dry. The sole is good and has a good grip in most conditions.

Top quality as always from Salmon. They feel stiff bit this gives great stability. I use these for hiking and trekking. These are too stiff and heavy for me to use as a trail runner but that is a personal preference.

I have been using this Salomon Xa Pro 3D GTX model for many years, more than 10 pairs. This time I have tried the new V8 version and I can only say that they are the same or better than the previous ones, both for the grip, how the grip on the foot, the protection and above all the comfort. The only thing I like less is that the anchor pocket on the tongue to store the laces is more difficult to access than the previous model.

Good shoe overall, have used the series for several years - it's probably the 3rd pair now, run with their own posts. Unfortunately, the heel twitches a bit as the sole is probably a few millimeters too high. This means that the heel is probably higher up than the shoe is made for and it was rubbed within 6 months. But then the fabric tape goes ahead for the remaining 6+ months. Gets hot and sweaty on the feet regardless of shoes nowadays, even in these shoes. Suitable for shorter day trips in the woods and everyday, but nothing I would use for a multi-day hiking trip.
