Achieve a Flawless, Professional Finish on Your Vessel with 3M™ Wetordry™ Abrasive Paper 734, P180 Grit

Elevate your boat maintenance and restoration projects from ordinary to exceptional. The 3M™ Wetordry™ Abrasive Paper 734 is engineered for marine enthusiasts and professionals who demand a superior finish and uncompromising performance. Specifically designed for the unique challenges of marine surfaces, this P180 grit sandpaper is your essential partner for achieving a perfectly smooth, refined surface ready for the next step, whether it´s priming, painting, or polishing.

The standout feature of this advanced abrasive is its incredible versatility. As the "Wetordry" name implies, it is optimized for outstanding results in both wet and dry sanding applications. When used wet, it significantly reduces airborne dust, creating a cleaner and healthier working environment—a crucial benefit when working in enclosed spaces or near water. Wet sanding also helps to clear away sanded material from the sheet, minimizing clogging (loading) and extending the paper´s effective life. This process results in an exceptionally fine and consistent scratch pattern, which is the secret to achieving a mirror-like finish on gelcoat and high-gloss marine paints.

For dry applications, the 3M 734 paper delivers a fast, effective cut, making quick work of leveling primers or scuffing existing finishes to ensure proper adhesion for a new coat. The P180 grit is the ideal intermediate grade for a wide range of marine maintenance tasks. It is aggressive enough to efficiently remove minor surface imperfections, scratches, and light oxidation from gelcoat and painted surfaces, yet fine enough to avoid creating deep scratches that are difficult to remove later. It´s the perfect choice for feather-edging paint repairs, smoothing body filler, and preparing a surface for the final, finer grits before polishing.

Crafted with a highly flexible backing, this abrasive paper conforms effortlessly to the complex curves, contours, and tight corners found all over a boat´s hull, deck, and superstructure. This flexibility ensures even contact and uniform sanding pressure, preventing the flat spots and uneven finishes that can occur with stiffer papers. You can confidently tackle rounded gunwales, intricate non-skid patterns, and detailed trim work, knowing the abrasive is working consistently across the entire surface.

Trust the 3M 734 P180 sandpaper for all your critical surface preparation needs. It is the go-to solution for preparing gelcoat for compounding and polishing, scuffing between coats of varnish on brightwork for a deep, liquid finish, and ensuring your marine primers and paints have a perfectly prepared substrate to bond to. The result is a more durable, longer-lasting, and visually stunning finish for your vessel. Stop compromising and start achieving professional-grade results. Make the 3M™ Wetordry™ Abrasive Paper 734 a cornerstone of your boat maintenance and cleaning toolkit
