Davis Instruments Flat Skate Brake

The DAVIS INSTRUMENTS Flat Skate Brake in Black/Grey is a versatile and durable piece of deck equipment designed for boats and other marine vessels. This flat skate brake is essential for ensuring safe and efficient operation on deck, especially during heavy weather conditions or when maneuvering in tight spaces. Its primary function is to provide precise, adjustable friction on control lines, allowing you to secure them in place temporarily without cleating. This capability is invaluable for a wide range of applications, from assisting with single-handed sailing to managing various rigging lines with ease, significantly reducing skipper fatigue and improving overall control.

Engineered for performance, this fitting allows for hands-free convenience, perfect for holding a tiller steady on a specific course or for managing lines such as dinghy painters, furling lines, or outhauls. By applying consistent pressure, the brake holds the line securely, yet it is designed for quick and effortless release when adjustments are needed. This immediate responsiveness is crucial for reacting to changing wind and sea conditions, making it a superior choice over traditional knots or temporary cleating for many on-deck tasks. The innovative design ensures that you can maintain command of your vessel with greater confidence and less physical effort.

Constructed from high-quality materials, this flat skate brake is built to withstand harsh marine environments and heavy use. The sleek black and grey design adds a modern and professional look to any boat or equipment set-up. Its low-profile, flat-mount body minimizes the risk of snagging ropes, sheets, or clothing, contributing to a safer and more organized deck. This thoughtful engineering makes it an ideal upgrade or addition to any sailing or motorboat´s hardware configuration, blending seamlessly with existing fittings while offering enhanced functionality.
