Hi! You may mark waypoints and record tracks, but it is not possible to load a map in this device. So you will see just your waypoints and tracks in an empty screen. If you are not going to use it for fishing, I would say you better go to a handheld GPS device - something like Garmin eTrex, Montana etc. In those devices you may load a map, so you will be able to see your position in the lake or the river. What is more, from this devices you will be able to download the data of your trips and see it on a PC in Google Earth or similar mapping application. From the Striker it is not possible to download recorded data for the trip. Hope helped :-). BR!
