Mikado Ultraviolet 2 Match Rod

MIKADO Ultraviolet 2 Match Rod (390cm / 25g)

Elevate your long-range float fishing to a new level of precision and performance with the MIKADO Ultraviolet 2 Match Rod. Expertly designed for the discerning angler who demands control and finesse at a distance, this rod is a masterclass in modern match fishing equipment. Whether you are competing in a high-stakes match or simply enjoying a session targeting wary fish on large stillwaters and rivers, the Ultraviolet 2 provides the performance advantage you need to succeed.

The essence of this exceptional rod is captured in its core design philosophy. The Ultraviolet Match is a series of classic rods dedicated to float angling in a long distance. Proper butt, fast action, beautiful reaction to a fish and relatively low weight are only some of its advantages. This translates into a tangible on-the-bank experience where every cast is more accurate, every strike more decisive, and every fish played with absolute confidence. The rod´s fast action ensures a rapid transfer of power for instantaneous hook sets, even at extreme range, while the beautifully progressive curve of the blank cushions the fight, protecting delicate hook holds and minimizing the risk of losing a prize catch.

Engineered for balance and handling, the 390cm length provides superb line control, allowing you to effortlessly mend your line, navigate surface drift, and keep in direct contact with your float. Despite its impressive length and power, the Ultraviolet 2 remains remarkably light at just 237 grams. This significant reduction in weight means you can fish comfortably for hours on end, maintaining focus and concentration from the first cast to the last, without the fatigue often associated with long rods.

The rod’s backbone, originating from its powerful butt section, gives you the casting muscle to punch wagglers and sliders up to 25g into a headwind, reaching distant feeding zones that are inaccessible with lesser tackle. When you connect with a larger bonus fish like a tench, chub, or specimen bream, this same power reserve allows you to expertly guide the fish away from snags and towards your net with authority. The three-piece construction results in a convenient transport length of 138cm, making it easy to store and carry to your peg. For the serious float angler who seeks a perfect blend of power, sensitivity, and lightweight comfort, the MIKADO Ultraviolet 2 Match Rod is the definitive choice.
