I set this rod up with my Akios 656CTM reel using 12lb mono. Primarily I use it to fish the surf for Pompano, whiting, reds, trout. Yesterday I took it over to the field and using a 4ounce pyramid sinker casted it about 20 yards further then my previous casts using another rod. I do think I can get more out of it but did only two casts. The first one was weakly done, the second one about 75%. Can't wait to get out on the surf to really open it up.
