Plastimo Life Raft Realese Hydrostatic Mooring

PLASTIMO Life Raft Hydrostatic Release Unit

Ensure the ultimate safety of your crew and vessel with the PLASTIMO Life Raft Hydrostatic Release Unit, an essential piece of equipment in the Anchoring and Mooring category. Designed for uncompromising reliability, this device is a critical component for any mariner who understands that preparation is paramount. In the critical moments of an emergency, you need systems that function flawlessly and automatically, and the Plastimo HRU is engineered to do just that, providing invaluable peace of mind on every voyage.

This unit is the fail-safe that connects your liferaft cradle to the vessel. Its sole purpose is to guarantee that your liferaft is deployed automatically, even in the most challenging situations. The hydrostatic unit releases automatically the liferaft from a sinking vessel. It consists in a double looped white rope line, a release mechanism and a weak link (that will break away when the system is triggered). This ingenious design ensures that as the vessel submerges, the HRU activates and severs the connection, allowing the liferaft canister to float to the surface where it can be inflated.

Key Benefits:

* Automatic Lifesaving Deployment: The primary benefit is its fully automatic operation. It requires no human intervention to activate, releasing the liferaft based on water pressure, which is crucial during a rapid or disorienting emergency.
* Set-and-Forget Reliability: With a fixed operational lifetime and no servicing requirements, this unit offers a simple, reliable solution. Install it and be confident in its readiness for two full years, reducing maintenance schedules and ensuring your equipment is always compliant and ready.
* Enhanced Crew and Passenger Safety: By ensuring the liferaft is free from a sinking vessel, it dramatically increases the chances of survival for everyone on board, removing the risk of the liferaft being pulled down with the boat.
* Durable Marine-Grade Performance: Engineered to withstand the harsh saltwater environment, its corrosion-proof construction guarantees performance throughout its service life, preventing failure due to rust or environmental degradation.

Main Features:

* Pressure-Activated Release Mechanism: A sophisticated system that automatically activates when submerged between 1.5 and 4 metres of water.
* Integrated Weak Link System: Includes a specifically designed weak link that breaks under the correct pressure from an inflating liferaft, ensuring the painter line doesn´t keep the liferaft tethered to the sinking vessel.
* Complete Mooring Assembly: The unit comes as a complete system, including the double-looped rope line, for secure and correct attachment to the liferaft cradle and painter line.
* Compact and Unobtrusive Design: Its small dimensions ensure it can be fitted easily to most liferaft cradles without causing obstruction or being cumbersome.

Supports:

This hydrostatic release unit is designed to support the automatic deployment of canister-stowed liferafts. It effectively acts as the critical link between the liferaft cradle and the liferaft´s securing straps, ensuring the canister is released to float free from the vessel in an emergency. It is compatible with systems requiring a looped rope line and weak link assembly.
