Vetus aluminium Hull Rectangular Hull Anode

VETUS Aluminium Rectangular Hull Anode: Superior Corrosion Protection for Freshwater Vessels

Safeguard the integrity and longevity of your vessel with the VETUS Aluminium Rectangular Hull Anode, a critical component in your boat´s defence against the destructive effects of galvanic corrosion. Engineered for superior performance, this sacrificial anode is your first line of defence, protecting vital and expensive underwater metal components such as the hull, propellers, shafts, and rudders from costly damage. VETUS combines precision manufacturing with high-grade materials to deliver the peace of mind that every boat owner deserves.

Optimized Performance for Inland Waterways

The VETUS aluminium anode is specifically designed to provide optimal protection for vessels that spend most of their time cruising in freshwater environments like lakes, rivers, and canals. Understanding the science behind corrosion protection is key to making the right choice for your boat.
- For vessels which mostly cruise on inland (fresh) waters, we recommend aluminium anodes, since aluminium has a greater difference of potential with other metals than zinc.
- This is very important, as fresh water provides a higher electrical resistance than salt water, requiring a more active anode material to generate a protective current.
- For sailing on salt water or brackish water, we recommend the use of zinc anodes.
- Aluminium anodes also function well in salt water, but are sacrificed at a much faster rate, requiring more frequent inspection and replacement.
- There is also a choice of either rectangular or tear-drop shape to perfectly match the flowing lines of the boat and minimize drag.
- The material used for VETUS zinc anodes is of the highest U.S. Mil.-A-18001 K. specifications.
- VETUS aluminium anodes are made from an aluminium-indium-zinc alloy Mil.-A-24779 (SH), ensuring they meet stringent military-grade standards for quality and performance.

By choosing the VETUS aluminium anode for your freshwater vessel, you are equipping it with a system scientifically proven to be more effective in higher-resistance water, ensuring continuous and reliable protection where other anodes might underperform.
