VMC 9300 Wide Gap Longline barbed spaded hook

VMC 9300 Wide Gap Longline Hook: The Professional Choice for Commercial Fishing

Engineered for the demanding world of commercial and longline fishing, the VMC 9300 Wide Gap Longline Hook stands as the benchmark for strength, reliability, and performance. This hook is a trusted and very popular choice among commercial fishermen whose success depends on equipment that can withstand rigorous, continuous use. Its design is meticulously optimized for efficiency and effectiveness, making it an essential tool for serious anglers and large-scale fishing operations. The VMC 9300 is not just a piece of tackle; it´s a critical component for securing your catch and maximizing your yield, proving its worth in the most challenging marine environments.

The standout feature of the VMC 9300 is its extra wide gap, a crucial design element for securely presenting larger natural baits. This makes it the ideal hook when baiting longlines with whole or large-cut baits like sardines, mackerel, or squid. The wide gap ensures ample room for the bait while leaving the hook point clear and exposed for a solid, positive hookset. This superior bait-holding capability, combined with its specialized design, also makes it a top-tier choice for live bait and baitholder fishing styles, ensuring your bait remains active and presented naturally to attract predatory fish.

At the core of the VMC 9300´s incredible strength is its premium construction. Forged for superior power, the hook resists flexing and breaking under the strain of heavy lines and powerful fish. This is further enhanced by the use of VMC´s premium-quality Hi-Carbon Steel. As VMC states, carbon stabilizes iron during temperature changes, and a higher level of carbon results in significantly stronger steel. This advanced material allows VMC to create a thinner hook that possesses the highest quality point and unparalleled durability. The reversed (offset) point orientation works to improve your hook-up ratio, turning more bites into landed fish by ensuring the sharp, regular barb finds a secure hold in the fish´s jaw. The traditional spade end is designed for fast, strong, and professional snelling, a standard requirement for longline rigging.
