Yamashita Naory Range Basic 1.5 squid jig

YAMASHITA Naory Range Basic 1.5: The Ultimate Finesse Squid Jig for Light Eging

Unlock the full potential of your light eging and shallow water pursuits with the YAMASHITA Naory Range Basic 1.5. Expertly engineered in Japan for anglers who demand precision and performance, this squid jig is the quintessential tool for targeting smaller squid species, such as calamari and loligo, or for tempting highly pressured and finicky larger squid in challenging conditions. When squid are wary and unresponsive to larger presentations, the Naory Range Basic 1.5 provides the subtle, natural appeal needed to trigger aggressive strikes.

The core philosophy behind the Naory Range Basic is to deliver a superior, responsive action with minimal effort from the angler. Its meticulously balanced body and custom-designed keel sinker allow for an incredibly sharp and dynamic side-to-side darting motion, known as ´eging´, that perfectly mimics the panicked retreat of a small prawn or baitfish. This lifelike action is irresistible to predatory cephalopods, drawing them in from a distance. Even with the slightest twitch of the rod tip, the jig springs to life, making it an ideal choice for both seasoned eging experts and newcomers to the technique.

One of the standout benefits of this exceptional lure is its remarkable stability during the fall. The descent is the most critical phase when hunting squid, as this is when the majority of bites occur. The Naory Range Basic 1.5 has been tuned to maintain a perfect, horizontal posture as it sinks, presenting a natural and non-threatening profile. This controlled and stable fall gives squid the confidence to attack without hesitation, significantly increasing your chances of a successful hook-up.

Yamashit´s pioneering "Warm Jacket" technology is integrated into this model, a revolutionary feature that sets it apart from all others. This unique thermo-storage cloth captures heat from any light source—be it sunlight or the angler´s torch—and retains it in the water. The subtle temperature difference between the jig and the surrounding water mimics the warmth of a living creature, making the squid hold on longer once they strike and providing a more realistic tactile sensation that converts tentative taps into solid connections.

Built for maximum effectiveness, every aspect of the Naory Range Basic 1.5 is optimized for performance. The ultra-sharp, dual-crown stainless hooks are specifically designed for the delicate mouths of squid, ensuring swift and secure penetration with minimal force, dramatically reducing the number of lost catches. Its slim, hydrodynamic profile allows it to cut through the water efficiently during retrieval and darting, providing direct feedback to the angler and enhancing control. Available in a vast array of proven color patterns, including natural, high-visibility, and UV-reactive (Keimura) finishes, there is a Naory Range Basic 1.5 perfectly suited for any water clarity, light condition, or target preference.
