BBB Hero Junior Helmet

The Hero Kids Helmet is the perfect protection for our smallest bike riders. The Hero Kids is not just an adult helmet in a very small size. It is designed as a kids´ helmet from scratch. The insect net makes sure insects cannot enter the helmet. The special chin pad is added to create extra comfort on a kid´s head. The front of the helmet is slightly thicker so that if the kid falls over, the helmet will even protect their face. The back of the helmet is lower to create extra protection as well. And of course, we cannot forget about some fancy color schemes and patterns to make our smallest wearers, proud wearers.

The helmet dividers lead the front and rear helmet straps to the chin. We use two types of systems:

Sliding system:
- This is an aluminium slide through which the helmet straps run, which can easily be moved and stays in place due to resistance.

Locking system:
- On this aluminium slide, the buckle can be opened to slide the divider upwards or downwards after which you can close the buckle to secure its position.

EN-1078:
- Specifies requirements and test methods for bicycle helmets in Europe. It covers helmet construction including the field of vision, shock-absorbing properties, retention system properties including chin strap and fastening devices, as well as marking and information.

The shell construction describes the type of material that is used and how the shell and the EPS foam are constructed:

Hardshell (ABS):
- Hardshell helmets have an ABS shell. In this construction, the ABS shell and the EPS foam are glued together. The advantage of an ABS shell is that it is very durable and shockproof due to the thickness of this shell. However, it is also a little heavier.

Infusion:
- Infusion helmets are, just like In-mold helmets, made in a production process where the shell and the foam are melted together with the use of heat and pressure. However, the shell of an Infusion helmet is made of PVC and is always ´single-shell´. It consists of one component.

In-mold:
- In-mold means that the shell and the foam are made in a production process where they are fused together by heat and pressure. We make a distinction between single and multi-shell in-mold helmets. Single-shell helmets are made with one shell that covers the entire helmet. Multi-shell is found in the more expensive segment where the helmets are made with multiple shell parts. This has advantages in terms of both strength and design.

Straps:
- The straps of a helmet are important for both safety as comfort. All the helmets straps used in our helmets have a nice touch on the skin. The straps used in the more high end helmets have an even softer feeling and are more lightweight. All our straps comply with the safety standards.

Technology:

Easy adjustable strap dividers:
- Tangled straps are now a thing of the past. Our specially developed helmet strap dividers keep the straps neatly in place. They guide the straps through the retention system and along the head for a comfortable fit. Make sure the helmet strap divider always sits neatly under your ear for the best experience and the neatest finish of the helmet straps.

Insect mesh:
- Inside our helmets, you´ll find an insect mesh that serves as a barrier, preventing bugs and insects from getting inside. This handy feature ensures a comfortable and bug-free ride, so you can focus on the road ahead without any unwanted guests in your helmet.
