Changed the original 28T Megatooth chainring for Marlin 7. You need a 5mm Allen key (4 bolts for chainring) and 15mm Span key to remove the pedal. Also the chain need to be replaced with KMC X10 116 links to be able to use last 3 big cogs without damage the back tensioner. Perfect peoduct.

Upgraded from 28T. The change was quite easy by removing the pedal crank and then the 4 bolts to the 28T chain ring and doing the reverse for the 24T chain ring. You'll need the tool to remove the pedal crank. You'll also need to buy a new 10 speed chain as the 34T cog needs a longer chain which is easy to do. You'll need the chain tool as well to remove the pins. Basically, run the chain around the largest gear at the back to the front and add 4 links. Make sure the sizing is inner to inner link if you're using the quick link joiner (recommended). The shifting of the 3 largest cogs at the rear cassette won't be as smooth and the largest is noisy due to cross chaining impact. But worth it as now all the down hills I was maxing out I can pedal with some spare capacity to push harder. Trek should include the 34T as a default as I find I never used the largest two rear gears even with the 34T. Used for city trails with a few decent hills.
