Great battery life. I've had my bike for over 2 years now and I can tell the stock battery isn't quite as good as it was when I first got the bike, which led me to buying the extender. It really helps with the 'range anxiexty' and got me through a 75km cycle last weekend with 80% left on the bike battert and 25% left on the spare battery, so a great addition for those wanting the longer rides without the worry of losing power (I cycled around 40km on a low energy setting, the remaining 35km I used a mix of medium to full power, so I 'used' lots of juice but still had plenty of battery life left at the end). As others have mentioned, it has to replace one of your bottle cages and this cage unfortunately is bigger than standard bottles. This has meant on those rides where I don't want to use the extender, I spend the 5 mins switching the cages out with an Allen key so I can use it for water.

All you need to know is that you have to remove one of your existing bottle cages and install the one provided instead. The one provided is specifically designed to hold the range extender more firmly and also to accommodate the rubber fixing provided to hold the extender in place. The other thing you have to do is to ensure that you can still access the existing charge point which the extender had to be connected to. The extender has it’s own charge point on top which becomes your new charge point.

The technical data includes battery and external battery data: voltage, charging, remaining capacity, normal capacity, current, cycles, and temperature.

Yes, it's compatible with both X35 and X35+. It comes with a built-in cable to connect it the bike's charge port. It has just one mount - you'd need one for each bike or be prepared to swap it over. It doesn't come with a charger - use an existing charger. Delivery will vary according to country. Mine was shipped within a couple of days.

To use this range extender you need a bike which has the Mahle X35 or X35+ system. This system has a 250Wh battery. The range extender has a 208Wh battery. So if you know how far you can currently go with just the fitted battery, you can calculate how far you would expect to go with both the fitted battery and the range extender (i.e. 458/250 x the range with just the fitted battery).

I just completed a 100km hilly ride (UK South Downs). It depleted the extender but I had 60% left in the main battery. But that's down to the way I ride and use the battery. As a rule of thumb, the extender adds about 80% to your usual range. Andy

No it is not compatible. This range extender is only for bikes with the Mahle X35 system, and it provides 208Wh in addition to the bike's 250Wh. So your OGGI already has more charge than that.

No The range extender is connected in series to the battery of the X35 system, which is installed in the front tube. Simply connect it to the charging plug and then charge the entire system via the battery connection. This discharges more quickly than the system battery. There is no PC interface. The end customer can use a smartphone app to query information and make certain settings via Bluetooth. The specialist dealer has another app that can be used to make settings and checks. The system´s information can also be displayed on certain smartwatches and bike computers (gimmick or useful?); but it also works without it.

To charge the range extender, you connect the supplied charger to the range extender, and you can charge the range extender either on its own or on the bike. To use the range extender, a cable from the extender plugs into the bike. If you use the Mahle MySmartBike app, you can see the battery charge % and the range extender charge %.

NO The range extender only fits the Mahle X35 drive. It is not a battery like a smartphone that delivers power at a certain voltage, but rather has specific electronics and a special plug. It doesn´t even fit the Mahle X20 motor.

The Mahle X35 system can usually be connected to the range extender. I bought it for our Decathlon E Grvl from BikeInn. The price was sensationally low, delivery took a little longer than expected, but in the end everything worked out. Other suppliers didn´t have the extender in stock!! The possibility of using the range extender was explicitly noted in the specifications. There are 3 problems: - the frame shape must allow the RE to be positioned - the original main battery must be installed - the plug connection must fit. Ribble (ribblecycles) doesn´t say anything about the range extender. The question is whether it is even needed. Bikes with the X35 can be ridden like a normal bike. You can easily get around 100 km; of course less with a headwind and a lot of incline. With our bikes we need it to ride up passes. Have fun!

I believe so, yes. My bike is a 2020 Orbea Gain F40 with Ebikemotion / Mahle X35 system and the range extender works fine. Looking at the Ribble Al-e it appears to have the same X35 battery / motor set up, with the IWOC controller, so the range extender should work on this just as for mine.
