Without going to higher-end products and higher costs, these excellent Shimano discs do their duty very well, even possibly combined with metal and semi-metal pads and perform well in all conditions of use (excluding "extreme" things where it is better to orient yourself on higher performing disks). I wouldn´t put metal pills in it. The compatible pads for this model are resin.

As for the groove, I do not know technically what it refers to. The closure is threaded, like most disc closures.

Hello, it comes with an internal threaded tightening nut but you can replace it with an external tightening one..
