My MTB has a 180mm Shimano SM-RT64-M front rotor and a 160mm Shimano SM-RT64-S rear rotor. I notice that the last letter of the reference number is different in both cases. These rotors have a CL ending (instead of M or S, as mine have). I don´t know the meaning of these letters. Are they compatible with mine? Thanks.

Hello, these discs ARE compatible with yours. What you need to check is whether they attach to the wheels with the 6 bolts or if it´s the center lock model like this one.

The RT54 is a ‘wide’ brake track disc rotor. It is only compatible with a resin pad. The RT64 is a ‘narrow’ brake track disc rotor. It is compatible with resin and metal pads. If your brake used the RT54 the RT64 will technically work, but its performance will be impacted. Your brake pads will also wear unevenly. Shimano says no. You decide. Also, the RT64 includes an external lock ring. You need a BB tool to install, not a cassette tool.
