I bought these pedals for a 2000 km bike touring trip from Tallinn to Budapest. It was the best idea I could've had. I just switched from flats to spd and they make a very huge difference in terms of efficiency and I also feel like that my legs, due to the possibility of pulling the pedals as well - do not hurt anymore on long rides how they used to, especially my knees. I don't experience any knee pain anymore. These pedals are super sturdy, I find them super high quality for a relatively low price. Absolutely recommended.

This item spd pedals (it seems there is mistake in item description). As a rule spd pedals are used in MTB, however there is not anything to prevent you to use on road bike. Only one thing you need is compatible shoes. For spd on your bike-shoes must have square-like place for cleats, for spd-sl -- triangle-like place for cleats
