Shimano, as usual, always does a good job. These top-of-the-line controls mate perfectly with the SIS derailleurs of yesteryear and the current Tourney 6 or 7 speeds (depending on model) as well as with the front derailleurs with three chainrings. Advantageously replaces the rotating handles, very painful even in Shimano. The indexing of speeds is pleasant, fast. Attention, nothing to do with Shimano deore, xt or xlt controls... For sport mountain biking you will have to go upmarket (shorter controls, even faster indexing, but the price is quite different!). For rides, cycle touring, velotaf and even for children's 24-inch mountain bikes, this is an excellent product that ages very well with use! Note: the integrated brake handles are designed for v-brakes, but it is also compatible with the old systems (cantilever); the cantilever shoes can be replaced by v-brake shoes (successfully tested three years ago on a 1998 Peugeot 26-inch mountain bike fitted with twist grips and cantilever brakes...). I recommend, it is a very good product
