Swift RL is a Petzl headlamp considered one of the most powerful. This model includes reactive lighting, a sensor that analyzes the ambient light and allows you to adjust the brightness levels according to the needs of the users.
The reflective headband offers adequate night vision and is ideal for outdoor activities such as mountaineering, trail running, among others. This lamp has 5 functions with proximity, movement and distance vision that you can control through a single button, it also includes a lock function to avoid accidentally turning it on.
The Petlz flashlight works with a 5-level meter. The version uses 2350 mAh lithium-ion battery, rechargeable through the micro USB type B port, with battery charge indicator. Its approximate weight is 100 grams.

I bought the Petzl Swift RL (new 1100lm model) version before Christmas for mountain hiking at night. This is without doubt the best headtoch I've ever owned... ok to be fair the negatives first... it's a little more expensive, lacks a dedicated on/off switch like some of the cheaper models and can only use a rechargeable (included) lithium battery rather than either AA or Lithium batteries. However, here come the postives... it's extremely light, comfortable, weather resistant, and is as bright as a car headlight on fullbeam... it's actually quite amazing how many lumins this headtorch can pump out and for so long. In standard mode you really do get 900 lumins for over 4 hours. I know because I've tried it! At the 600lm setting I even got over 7 hours recently. It is in Reactive Lighting mode however where this headtorch really, really shines (sorry couldnt help it!)... it takes a little getting used to but once in reactive mode the light automatically dims or strengthens depending on where you're looking. This means you get 1100lms (!!!) when looking in the far distance which is almost like using an anticraft light! When you're looking closer to home though the headtorch senses this and dims the lumins saving battery and stopping you from blinding people closeby. It really does work! In reactive mode my battery lasted longer than manual by about 1 to 2 hours while still feeling like I got more light. The added red light for nighttime map reading which doesn't ruin your night vision is another bonus and much missed on the previous model. Oh you can also lock the headtorch by long pressing the power button thereby resolving the need for a dedicated on/off switch. Remaining power levels are also indicated by temproary green lights over one of the lamps. Hopefully, the spare Petzl lithium batteries will get cheaper at some point but so far I don't think I'll need an extra. You get what you pay for here. Top quality. Top power and battery life. Overall, I highly recommend this head torch

Very powerful front light. Very good fit and easy to use. The only thing is that if you use it for ultra-distance races, the battery falls short. I recommend buying another auxiliary battery, lasting in sensor mode for about 5 or 6 hours depending on the weather.

Amazing headlamp, in first I was a bit sceptical of the reactive lighting tech, but I gave it a go anyway, because you can turn it of as well. The reactive lighting is fantastic, works very well, it reacts very fast to the illumination changes around you, seamless. Im using the lowest reactive light setting for night hikes on the trails that I already know well, and for unknown trails Im using mid setting. I didnt had a situation where I would use max setting, its just to bright for me, but good that is there. Very light and comfortable headlamp as well, battery life so far very good, since I use it on the min setting. Only downside, when you are on the min setting, you have to press 3 times to turn it off. Without the reactive lighting, the headlamp is also amazing, excellent flood light which I am using all the time. Getting myself a spare battery for the longer hikes.

Had received this headlamp today and tested it while strolling down at night. So you understand better, I'm from Ukraine and had not seen a steet light for a couple of months. This is the darkest spot on the world map, I guess. Things like headlamps are as useful as never. As for Petzl Swift RL itself, it is a great, high quality device. A big plus is that it is much cheaper at this shop, than here, in Ukraine. Shipping included.

Comfortable to wear, lightweight and powerful front. I like that it can be recharged with USB, the reflective details and the forehead pad. Having two headbands does not slip and I do not need to adjust it as much. I have been using a 350 lumen model from my partner to run up the mountain, he recommended me to buy a more powerful one because he says that it has fallen short. Indeed, there is a big difference.

The flashlight is super, there was a delay in delivery due to lack of stock, but as a result I received it on the evening of 12/31/19. I disassembled and saw that there were rubber bands and gaskets around, which confirms the declared IP, one thing worries me, this is the charge socket, while I bought a plug, I’ll look further. I bought the Petzl Swift RL (new 1100lm model) version before Christmas for mountain hiking at night. This is without doubt the best headtoch I've ever owned... ok to be fair the negatives first... it's a little more expensive, lacks a dedicated on/off switch like some of the cheaper models and can only use a rechargeable (included) lithium battery rather than either AA or Lithium batteries. However, here come the postives... it's extremely light, comfortable, weather resistant, and is as bright as a car headlight on fullbeam... it's actually quite amazing how many lumins this headtorch can pump out and for so long. In standard mode you really do get 900 lumins for over 4 hours. I know because I've tried it! At the 600lm setting I even got over 7 hours recently. It is in Reactive Lighting mode however where this headtorch really, really shines (sorry couldnt help it!)... it takes a little getting used to but once in reactive mode the light automatically dims or strengthens depending on where you're looking. This means you get 1100lms (!!!) when looking in the far distance which is almost like using an anticraft light! When you're looking closer to home though the headtorch senses this and dims the lumins saving battery and stopping you from blinding people closeby. It really does work! In reactive mode my battery lasted longer than manual by about 1 to 2 hours while still feeling like I got more light. The added red light for nighttime map reading which doesn't ruin your night vision is another bonus and much missed on the previous model. Oh you can also lock the headtorch by long pressing the power button thereby resolving the need for a dedicated on/off switch. Remaining power levels are also indicated by temproary green lights over one of the lamps. Hopefully, the spare Petzl lithium batteries will get cheaper at some point but so far I don't think I'll need an extra. You get what you pay for here. Top quality. Top power and battery life. Overall, I highly recommend this head torch.

Yes it does provide 1100 lm in MAX mode. It is a super shine (like car long distance headlights), but it does consume battery in 2h or so….

Hi Kamil, yes the Petzl Swift RL does have 1100lm. However, that lumin level is only available when using the Reactive Lighting Technology. So it´s not a lumin level you can manually turn on. Manual mode actually maxes out at 900lm. However, the extra 200 lumin is noticeable in reactive mode so defintely worth it. As is the red light mode so you don´t ruin your night vision. If you download the instruction manual from Petzl it´s all explained there. This is a truly outstanding headtorch. Probably one of the best out there a this price range.

Hi, when I purchased this article couple of weeks ago, this was my question. A have asked and the answer was that is new version of 1100 lm. When it arrived and open the box it was true. From the picture you can see that the new version is in red and black (main body) while the old one is in orange and white. There is also a difference in the headband. Nev version is colored in black and orange while the old is in light gray and orange. For me the red options of new version is better. Aleks

Hello, regarding your question the front is the 1100 lumens. Ignore the size section, it´s wrong. I bought it a month ago and I´m delighted. In Reactive Lighting® mode the battery lasts a long time and the light it gives is fantastic. The head support is very comfortable with the three elastic bands.
