The weight of the boots was a real bonus too, as theyre light enough to prevent fatigue over the day, but also the lightness means you dont stumble as much. One review I read criticised the lack of toe protection for scuffing rocks, but the weight reduction meant I didn't have any issues. The dual insole idea is perfect for me too, as I can pop in the more flexible ones for knocking about in, and the sturdier ones for hiking. They were so comfy from the outset that I wore them the whole holiday - from an afternoon in the pub to scrabbling up the Pyg track in the snow! Theyre both light and sturdy and look as good in the mud as with a pair of chinos. My only criticism is that theyre a bit difficult to get on, as they have an elasticated sock thing, but once you've got them on, this really helps them to be super comfy. As to durability - I'm not far enough along to speak with certainty, but they feel like they'll give me at least 5 years of service or more based on previous boots. All round, I'm super happy, and would recommend these to anyone looking for something stylish that can also take on the UKs toughest peaks in pretty miserable conditions.
