We’re calling it our first e-gravel bike, but it’s more like a pedal-powered SUV. Or an overland expedition vehicle. Or an urban ninja transit device. I've been using this bike to commute to work for 3 months now, it's really changed my life! I mounted the mudguards and a rear rack to attach a gear bag to. The only flaw cuts the GPS delivery at 23.5km/h, while the Bosch system already detects 25, to appreciate it better it should be unlocked up to 30 km/h like its American version. It is really powerful, with a good uphill leg it has truly extraordinary performance, I have never tried it in turbo mode because it really goes too fast!

I've been riding ~1000km, mainly commuting between home and office, and I have to say that "wow, why I haven't bought it earlier :-)" Really seamless effort between padeling and "e-support", handles steadily and despite higher weight compared to similar bikes without motor, it feels light when padeling higher than 25 kph speeds. Diificult to install assessories but what you would expect from a bike which does not have aluminium/steel frame. Absolutely great bike!

Absolutely superb bike. Been riding it for two weeks, mainly commuting and gravel trips. Total pain to install lights, and anything with cables inside the frame as the motor has to come out, but once you get the hang of it the process is manageable. Handles and rides very well, like all Niners. Fast, light for an ebike, and Bosch Gen 4 offers a seamless experience with little feeling of headwind when crossing between assist and non-assist (above 15 km/h).

Since I have a lower back problem, I would like something with a more upright position. I am 170 cm tall and have an inseam of 75 cm. Can I also buy a flat bar and change this seating position to be more upright?

I had similar concerns when I bought my bike, and as "first aid" I turned the stem around - by doing so, handle bar raised enough to prevent back problems. I also tried annother stem to raise the bar a bit more to enable more upright position, didn´t ruin the stability of the bike which is very well balanced

Hi, for a height m. 1.78 which frame is most appropriate? keeping in mind that my gravel muscle is a 53 cm. from the center of the handlebar stem and the center of the seat tube and 55 cm. from the center of the seat tube and the center of the bottom bracket?

You have two options, in that you can choose either the 53 cm frame or the 56 cm frame. If you prefer a longer seatpost, opt for the 53 cm, if you prefer to ride with less seatpost exposed, the 56 cm frame would also suit your height. If you are intending to use the Niner RLT E9 RDO 4-Star 2021 Gravel Electric Bike predominantly for road cycling you may prefer the shorter seatpost for weight reduction and more adjustment (if needed), so the 56cm frame would be better. If your aim is to use the bike on gravel and in the mountains the 53 cm frame will allow you to adjust the seat down to suit different riding conditions. In the end it is a matter of personal choice, based upon how you intend to use the bike.

I have a size 56 here and it measures exactly 55 cm between the center of the stem and the seat post. My height is 178 but I have long legs, hence the size 56. 178 cm could also be a 53. So (inside) leg length is decisive. The bike is not large by the way.

Hello, I bought this bike a year ago. I did 2000 km. I am 1.85 m tall and weigh 98 kg + luggage. For me this bike is indestructible!.... I have done road, gravel and cross country... the engine is super powerful and the frame very comfortable. NINER knows how to ride mountain bikes and its gravel is made in the same spirit, it is a little heavy for all carbon but the solidity is there. Be careful with the tires, they must accept at least 4 to 5 bars of pressure if you load them heavily.

I ride a Riverside 920 Touring by Decathlon in M, with a short stem the long bike fits, it sits relatively high so I sit more upright. What size do you recommend the Niner if you are 1.76m tall? According to the table 56 cm.?

Hello, I have a niner rdl in 56 cm and I measure 1.85 cm it is perfect for me. The saddle is at the height of the stem and the position is comfortable (I have done 400 km with it since I got it). For me the 56 cm is a real L compared to the Decathlon. For me, the 53 cm will be more suited to your size. Otherwise, the bike is incredible I have tried a lot of gravel e-bike and I have nothing to complain about this e-bike autonomy, power (same as mountain bike e-bike very powerful) look agility comfort everything is perfect. The bike weighs 18 kg for a range of at least 120 km in eco mode. At this price you shouldn´t hesitate. I have it serviced at Culture Vélo and I had it engraved for 20 euros upon arrival.

Yes you can but you have to remove the motor to access the plug. I have not done it and I have installed good quality mobile lights. Be careful with all the cables that we have outside the handlebars for the light. The light can be managed from the Purion screen. The bike comes without a software update. If you want it you have to go to a Bosch dealer to do it.

This bike is incredible. Very easy to handle, very good performance... an engine that tows whatever the slope and the condition of the ground. I did 500 kms with no problems. The weight is contained... thanks to the carbon. Very easy to put luggage in.

I would recommend the 50cm frame if you prefer to ride with seat post stem exposed. I am 175cm in height and I find the 50 cm frame is a perfect fit for me. I have ridden the NINER RLT E9 RDO 4-Star 2021 Gravel Electric Bike for over a year, covering >3000km during that time, most on roads, gravel tracks and pathways. It has performed superbly, and I am really happy with it - no problems, plenty of battery life left, not even a puncture. At least not so far...!

The motor on the Niner RLT E9 RDO 4-Star 2021 Gravel Electric Bike is the Bosch CX Gen 4 series. According to Bosch [https://www.bosch-ebike.com/en/products/performance-line-cx] it provides 250 watts of power, up to 340% pedal assistance, a maximum torque of 85 Nm, extremely sporty start-up characteristics, and pedalling rate assistance of up to 120 rpm. The speed is limited to 25kph, but the power unit is capable of more than double that speed, where legal, if the limiter is removed or a replacement chip is fitted. Thank you for asking. I own a NINER RLT E9 RDO 4-Star 2021 Gravel Electric Bike with the 50cm frame. The top tube is sloping, hence I measure the distance from the mid-head tube to mid-seat tube using a spirit-level. Top tube length for the 50cm frame = 51.4cm. According to the picture it has a length of 53.1cm.

The smallest frame size available in the NINER RLT E9 RDO 4-Star 2021 Gravel Electric Bike is 50cm. This frame size is perfectly suitable for riders of a height in the range 152cm - 160cm, so it should suit a rider of 155cm with the saddle and handlebars adjusted to suit.

I would suggest the 50cm frame size based on your height. I am ~173cm and I have a 50 cm frame with a medium-length seat post (this suits my preferred riding style). Battery life is remarkably good, especially if you put some effort in! You can reasonably expect 65-70km and possibly more depending upon road conditions and if you are climbing or on the flat. My personal experience matches this; I have never managed to drain the battery, I am invariably exhausted before the battery is!

I think the best is number 53. Range of battery depends on the level of assistance, when it is in turbo mode it is at least 35 kilometers with 1000 altitudes and if you are cruising on a level road at least 60 kilometers.

How far can I drive on one charge?

The answer is it depends upon how much pedalling you do! I have ridden for up to two hours (for me around 65km) with battery life remaining. A typical ride will include hills, where I make the most of the electrical motor going up, and maximise pedal power on the downhill. I have never exhausted the battery, as my personal limit is around 2h 30mins. My personal experience is confirmed by a very helpful ´first ride review´ here https://www.cyclevolta.com/story/sport-ebikes/niner-rlt-e9-rdo-first-ride-review/ which shows that covering 29 miles and 5,100 feet of elevation gain did not fully exhaust the battery. The theoretical limit is around 120km on a single charge, but I would suggest a lower number, perhaps 80-90km. There´s another helpful review here https://www.mtbr.com/threads/review-niners-electrified-rlt-e9-rdo.1173654/ which tends to support my assertion. If you would like to know the lifetime of the battery figures from Bosch suggest between 5,000 to 8,000 km. Overall it is a super bike and the battery and motor are of high quality and reliable. The Niner RLT E9 RDO 4-Star 2021 Gravel Electric Bike is equipped with a Power Tube 500 battery rated at 500 wh. As standard, Bosch offers a two-year warranty on e-bike batteries, or 500 charge cycles, whichever comes soonest. Bosch advises that batteries that are not in use for a month or longer, should be removed from chargers and stored in a cool, dry place. A replacement battery costs over 500 Euros (typically in the range 525-575 Euros). Good luck, it may be possible for you to bring your battery back to life using the standard charger. If not I would suggest that you take it to a shop specialising in e-bikes to assess if the battery is usable.

I have used both for around 18 months and they have proved to be good quality, and good value for money. I prefer to ride with a long seatpost, so I attached the rear rack to my seatpost (single point attachment). The bag clips directly on to the rack, and is fitted securely, but it has a quick release, so I can take the bag with me wherever I go. The luggage I purchased is waterproof, hence I have never had a problem with water ingress either in rain or snow.

Hallo, I would recommend the largest frame size available 59 cms based on your height and leg measurement. You could also consider longer than standard cranks for your pedals, 17.5 cms would be good. Colours are limited ´electric moss´ is standard, which I would described as metallic green. The performance of the bike is fantastic - I have had mine for around 18 months, and it is the best bike I have ever owned. Speed is good, power is immense, brakes and tyres perform well, and the frame is rock-solid. I like it very much!

Good morning. In the questions you say that the 50cm size is suitable for you for 1m75 while on the niner site the 53cm size is given for a rider between 1m68 and 1m75. Did you make a mistake in your answer? Can you specify which luggage rack you have installed on your gravel niner? Is this bike fun to ride above 25km/h when there is no more assistance? Because when you use an eMTB to go to work, for example above 25kmh, it´s not very pleasant with the big 27.5/2.8 tires and the weight of the bike. THANKS

There is no mistake, as bike fitting is a personal choice, and I prefer to ride with a long seat post. Hence I chose the smaller 50cm frame, as opposed to 53cm to allow me to maximise seat post-length. The exposed seat post forms a useful location to mount my luggage rack, rear light, and a reflector so that I can carry luggage and be seen. The rear luggage rack/bag is by Vaude. This has a clip fitted to the seat post, and the medium-sized off-road bag slots in, and then locks in place. It is removed by pressing a button, and unhooking it from the slots. The mounting is very secure and the bag is waterproof. I like to ride over 25 kph where possible, and the bike is still fun to ride when you exceed this speed. I do ride the bike to and from work, and it provides the best cycling experience I've had, combining comfort, speed and a relatively light weight for an e-bike. The range of the battery allows me to enjoy longer rides on weekends, and here the Niner is unsurpassed in my view.

A 50cm frame on this eBike would suit somebody of height 168 to 178 cm. I am 175cm tall, and the frame is perfectly suited for me. Of course, you should also adjust the height of the saddle and change the position of the handlebars to suit your personal riding style. In my opinion the Niner RLT E9 RDO is a very high-quality bike, which has provided many hours of enjoyable cycling for me. Have fun and ride the best value eBike on the market!

Both frame sizes are suitable. In fact you are on the upper limits of a 56cm frame, and at the lower limit of a 59cm frame! I would suggest that you consider 56cm as it offers more flexibility. For example you will be able to ride with a longer length of epxosed seat post. This will allow you to locate lights and/or reflectors and/or a luggage rack if you wish. The 59cm frame would be more suitable if you are still growing, or if you have particularly long legs. Best option is to try the bike and assess which feels more comofrtable with your riding style.
What is max speed?

The US version of this bike is limited to 28mph. The EU version is 25kph. The legal limit in Canada is 32kph. What is this bike's max speed before the boost cuts out?

The boost cuts out at 25kph in accordance with the law in many EU Member States. Due to this limitation, it is a breeze to attain and maintain 25kph, but every kph above that requires human intervention. Despite this the Bosch electric motor is capable of delivering significantly higher speeds. The speed limiter is software-based, and it is possible to de-restrict the 25kph limit. Check out the various proprietary tools for delimiting the Bosch motor by searching for ´bosch electric bike delimiter´ on your favourite search engine. More than one solution is available if you have a need for speed.

What is the weight of this bike?

The weight of the Niner RLT E9 RDO 4-Star 2021 gravel electric bike is 17,55 kg on delivery (without pedals, additional lights, reflectors, etc.). Fully loaded it is <18kg, so comparatively lighter than many e-bikes, and easy to handle, in my opinion. I like it very much indeed!
