With the Recon 1.0 our goal was simple—put S-Works Recon-inspired performance in a very accessible package. Easier said than done, but we’ve created a shoe with Body Geometry comfort and efficiency in a durable, dirt-focused shoe. So yeah, mission accomplished.
Using our exclusive STRIDE toe-flex technology, the nylon outsole uses a TPU injected forefoot for natural movement off-bike, while still providing a stiffness index of 6.0 for in-the-saddle performance. The Recon 1.0 is a double threat—efficiency at the pedals with comfort and confidence off bike.
To create traction off the bike in wet or dry, gravel or dirt, we’ve covered the nylon outsole with our SlipNot compound. We’ve also lifted the heel for an even more natural feeling while walking.
Three Velcro closures make slipping into the Recon 1.0 easy, and creates a fit designed for all day comfort and performance, whether your ride calls for open gravel, twisting single track, and even more than your fair share of hike-a-bike.

Weight 750gr in size 44 with Spd cleats. Rigid and flexible toe area, rubber studded sole, these two characteristics make it possible to walk with these shoes, even climb a rock. Wide in the front area, you can move your fingers. The velcros are very effective, the previous ones were Specialized velcros, they are 18 years old and still work. In short, a very well thought out, comfortable and effective shoe, we will see how long it lasts. Exact size what indicates 44 = 28.3cm. Checked.

Well made wedge shoes. The last is not excessively wide, but the toes are not tight. The size is the standard that I use in general, it is neither big nor small, you can accept the one that is advised. Very covered, so in the summer the foot tends to sweat. Stiff enough for coves but very acceptable for walking. Overall I give it an 8 out of 10.

As a regular sportive cyclist I’ve had quite a few pairs of cycling shoes over the years. Hard to beat Specialized with their body geometry design and these particular shoes do not disappoint. Some reviewers have commented on them being wide fitting but I think that they aren’t as generous in width as previous versions. Recommended however.

Lightweight and comfortable. Perfect size 44 by looking at the suggested size chart. The sole fits perfectly on the pedal and on dirt or even muddy ground. Perfect for MTB.

Finally wide shoes that do not look and weigh like two little mountains. Very comfortable and light, the size is right, and although the toes are flexible the power transfer is incredible!!! Highly recommended.
