How to Fix a Bike Tyre
Here in this guide, we will discuss the simple steps on how to fix a bike tire. Have a look:Take the Wheel off the Bike
To fix a flat bike tire, you need an upright bike stand to elevate the wheel so you can work easily. Or you can also put the bike downside where the handlebar and saddle rest on the floor.
Loosen the Nuts with a Wrench
Use a wrench or ratchet alone to loosen the nuts on the wheel axle. If the nuts are too tight to be loosened, you can use silicone spray or oil. Most modern bike models have simple and quick release wheel latches.
Disconnect the Brakes
If the brakes are in the way of taking off the wheel, you should first disconnect them. There are different types of brake mechanisms with various releases, but you can often find a quick release on either the hand brake lever or brake calipers.
Taking the Wheel Off
You simply have to release the brakes and then pull off the wheel. Specialized, Schwalbe, Vittoria, Continental, and Mavic offer all the tools and gears for fixing bike tires.
Remove the Tube
Next, you will need to deflate the tube and remove it by pressing on the edges of the tire. You can also use a tire lever so that you can easily access the inner tube. Here you will require inspecting the whole wheel, bike tire, and tube for the cause of tears or punctures.
Patch or Replace With a New Tube
Depending on the puncture, you will either be required to fix the bike tyre with a patch or replace it with a new one.
Reinstall the Wheel
Once you are done, reinstall the wheel properly and check by spinning the pedals to ensure it is properly fixed.
