Review Suunto Run

Dato 26/09/2025

I´ve been testing the Suunto Run over the past few weeks and wanted to share my experience with it. I´ve used it both for running workouts—from long runs to track sessions—and for everyday use and other types of exercise. In this review, I´ll tell you how I´ve found the GPS and metrics to be effective, how it fits into my routines, how it performs in terms of design, display, and battery life, and of course, what I liked most and what I liked least about this watch.

cabecera

Key points (quick to read)

  • - Weight: 36 g / 1.27 oz
  • - Measurements: 46 × 46 × 11.5 mm
  • - Materials: Stainless steel, Gorilla Glass, reinforced case and nylon strap
  • - High-accuracy GPS (dual band)
  • - Battery: 12 days in daily use / 20 h in performance mode / 40 h in power saving mode
  • - AMOLED HD display , perfectly readable in full sunlight
  • - 34 sports modes + specific running functions
  • - Complete activity and recovery tracking
  • - App compatibility

Experience with GPS and metrics

  • I tested the Suunto Run on long runs, fartleks, and intervals, both on the track and on the road. The GPS connected very quickly and remained stable, allowing me to start training without wasting time waiting for a signal. The on-screen data was clear and easy to read , and I appreciated being able to customize the screens based on the type of session to see exactly what I needed at any given time.

Design, screen and battery

  • This section was one of the ones that surprised me the most:
  • - Design: Very light and comfortable, with a nylon strap that fits well even on small wrists. It´s also easy to clean and odor-free.
  • - AMOLED display: balanced size and excellent visibility even in bright sunlight.
  • - Battery: I was impressed by its battery life. It offers up to 12 days of daily use and 40 hours in power saving mode, allowing you to forget about the charger for quite some time.

Daily use and other sports

  • Although it´s clearly focused on running , I also tried it at the gym and at Pilates . It performed without a problem, but what I value most is how well it adapts to everyday use: it´s lightweight, doesn´t bother your wrist, and you can wear it for hours without realizing you´re wearing it.

What I liked the most

  • - Comfort: It´s so light that you hardly notice you´re wearing it.
  • - The clarity of the data: both in quiet shooting and in fast intervals.
  • - Screen customization according to the type of training.

What convinced me the least

  • The only problem was syncing with TrainingPeaks. I couldn´t get it to connect properly and had to upload workouts manually, which was quite time-consuming. Even contacting support couldn´t resolve the issue. For me, since I plan my sessions there, this was a clear weakness.

Conclusion

  • I think the Suunto Run is a watch designed primarily for runners looking for a reliable, comfortable, and intuitive device. If you want a lightweight watch with good data visibility, long battery life, and a good fit for everyday use, it´s a highly recommended option. In my personal experience, the only drawback was the integration with TrainingPeaks, but otherwise, the experience has been very positive.
